Once Upon a Time Season 5 Episode 1
Throughout our OUAT life, there have been many villains that came and went. Some of those evil minds even decided to change their path for the best – The Evil Queen/Regina.
If you recall, we left off season four when Emma (Jennifer Morrison) sacrificed herself to save Regina (Lana Parrilla) and her Storybrooke family’s future. When she made this noble move, she had to pay the price of magic.
Remember that? “All magic comes with a price” saying is standing bolder than ever now.
Season five kicks off with Emma trapped with powers of a very old evil – something ancient. The executive producer, Edward Kitsis described it as, “Every part of her is fighting her dark urges.”
With this darkness taking over her soul, how will she be different than Rumplestiltskin’s (Robert Carlyle) dark powers? All we know is that Emma will have a unique way as she takes on the Dark One title. When you mix good with bad powers, is that a recipe for something even worse than what Rumple was capable of doing?
With the unknown before the whole town, Emma’s family and friends search for Merlin to help free Emma from this power. This will require a new savior to take her place. Who will it be?
Our guess (and this is only speculation) is Regina. She is a strong-minded woman who knows her way around good and evil. With her experience, she knows this world and beyond. Even though we believe Regina would be the perfect candidate, would the writers of “Once Upon a Time” bring a new character to town to take over as savior?
